“The Power of Data: Strategies for Smarter Decisions”
The Department of Computer Science and Application at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies organized the TechMasters Expert Talk Series-9 titled “The Power of Data: Strategies for Smarter Decisions” on 20th February 2026 at Aula Magna, SCAS, from 10:00 am to 12:45 pm. The program was conducted for the final year students of BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Technology, and BCA, with the objective of enhancing their knowledge and practical understanding of data analysis techniques used in industry.
The session featured two distinguished resource persons from i‑Net Infotech Pvt. Ltd.. The first resource person, Muhammad Jasim N S, Technical Manager, provided an in-depth introduction to the importance of data-driven decision making in modern organizations. He explained how data analysis plays a crucial role in business intelligence, predictive analytics, and strategic planning. He also demonstrated the key steps involved in Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), including data cleaning, data visualization, and identifying patterns in datasets.
The second resource person, Jishna M, Software Developer, delivered a detailed session on handling real-world data challenges. She explained techniques for managing missing values, detecting and handling outliers, and performing categorical encoding for machine learning applications. She also introduced students to bivariate analysis and various distribution plots, highlighting their importance in understanding relationships between variables and interpreting data effectively.
The session was highly interactive, and students actively participated by asking questions and engaging in discussions. The speakers shared practical examples and industry insights, helping students understand how theoretical concepts are applied in real-world scenarios. The program provided valuable exposure to industry practices and tools used in data analysis and data science.
