The Department of Social Work organized a one-day nature camp named “തളിർ” at Peechi Wildlife Sanctuary on 18th August 2025, with MSW students from both batches and three faculty members participating. The camp began with an orientation by forest authorities on trekking guidelines and safety measures, followed by a trek through the sanctuary where students learned about its rich biodiversity and ecological significance.
In the afternoon, Mr. Xavier, Former Forest Officer and Environmentalist, handled a session on snakes, highlighting their ecological role, common species in Kerala, and clearing myths and misconceptions. The camp concluded with a feedback session and a vote of thanks by Jeesmaria,MSW I year student. Overall, the camp provided valuable learning on environmental awareness, biodiversity, and team spirit.
