Department of Social Work in association with Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS), Thrissur Chapter has organised District Conference and Observation of Social Work Day on 16th March 2026. Dr. Asha P Rao, Former Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work, Vimala College (Autonomous) has inaugurated the Programme. Mr. Lims Thomas, President, KAPS Thrissur Chapter presided the function. A Panel Discussion was followed by the inaugural function moderated by Mr. Jijo Kuruvila, Head of the Department of Social Work, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, and featured insightful deliberations by distinguished panelists including Dr. Shubitha Menon U, Social & Communication Expert at Kerala Solid Waste Management Project, Mr. Leo Rajan, Project Lead at ICICI Foundation, and Mr. Arun M, PhD Scholar at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, who collectively enriched the session with their diverse perspectives and expertise. Students of various schools of social work and various professionals participated in the programme.
