Giving a great importance to mental health and well being, the Wellness Beats Counselling Cell officially got inaugurated on July 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM in HR Hall at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies for the year 2025. The program’s core objectives include the formal handover of the counselling cell to the PG Department of Psychology, initiating counselling services for both students and faculty for and a broader goal of fostering mental health awareness and enhancing overall mental health well-being.
The inauguration featured an address by Rev. Dr. Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director, SCAS, who highlighted the need for mental health support and functioning of the cell this was followed by Dr. Joy K L (Principal), Dr. Karuna K (Vice Principal), and Mr. Suresh A K (HOD, PG Department of Psychology) who also spoke about the counselling cell’s purpose and operations. The official transfer of the cell’s files and ledgers occurred from Rev. Dr. Fr. Devis Chenginiyadan to Mr. Suresh AK, who then handed them to Ms. Kathlyn Bennett, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Psychology, formalizing her role as counselling in-charge. Ms. Kathlyn Bennett concluded the program with a vote of thanks.
