ADVANCED GIS

The Advanced GIS course is designed to build upon fundamental GIS concepts and skills, focusing on advanced spatial analysis, data modeling, and real-world problem solving. This course explores how geographic data can be captured, processed, analyzed, and visualized to support decision-making in complex environmental, urban, and socio-economic contexts.

Students will gain hands-on experience with advanced GIS tools and techniques, including spatial statistics, geoprocessing models, network and terrain analysis, and geodatabase management. The course also introduces GIS programming, enabling students to handle large datasets efficiently and develop customized spatial workflows.

CERTIFICATE ISSUING BODY

The Centre for Environment and Development (CED), established in 1993, is an autonomous research and development, training and consultancy organization focusing on fields related to Environment and Development. The primary objective of the Centre is to carry out multi and inter-disciplinary research on environmental and developmental issues. The Centre is working in association with various governmental agencies and multilateral organizations like Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India etc.

Department of Geology is conducting a Certificate course on ‘ADVANCED GIS’ in collaboration with CED since 2025.
