ALUMNI – TALK SERIES, 2025-2026

Student Induction Programme Deeksharambh was held in June 2025 by Post-Graduate
Department of English at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies (Autonomous). An Alumni
Talk was organised on 1st July for the newly admitted students of BA English, Malayalam,
and Media Studies. The session took place at 1:45 pm in Aula Magna, the college’s
multipurpose hall. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address
delivered by Dr. Swapna C Kombath, Head of the Malayalam Department. The Presidential
Address was given by Prof. (Dr) Sanil Raj J, Dean of Student Affairs, who highlighted the
importance of Alumni Talks in inspiring students to make the most of their academic life.
The invited alumna was Ms Beegam Jahana (BA English 2022–25), who was both the Class
Topper and Arts Wing Topper. A distinguished NCC Junior Under Officer at SCAS, Jahana
shared her transformative experiences at the institution, especially her journey with the NCC.
Her articulate and relatable speech made a lasting impact on the audience. The programme
concluded with a memento presentation to Ms Jahana and a Vote of Thanks by Ms Sheena
Sarah Winny, Head of the PG Department of English. The session proved highly
motivational for the students.
