A beach cleaning programme named ‘Blue Heaven’ was conducted on 12th November 2025 at Perinjanam on behalf of the Department of Physics, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies. A team of six students from the first year and third year B.Sc. Physics, accompanied by two faculty members, actively participated in the activity. The team arrived at Perinjanam Beach at 2.00 pm and carried out the cleaning process effectively. Upon arrival, the team conducted a brief assessment of the beach area to identify zones that required immediate attention. Students and faculty divided themselves into small groups and began collecting plastic waste, bottles, food wrappers, glass pieces, and other forms of litter scattered across the shore. The participants used collection bags to ensure systematic waste removal. All gathered waste was segregated into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories. Non-recyclable waste was securely bagged for disposal through proper waste management channels. Faculty members supervised the process and ensured safety throughout the activity. By the end of the cleaning activity, the beach area showed a noticeable improvement in cleanliness. The participants successfully completed the activity and departed from Perinjanam at around 3.30 pm, reaching the college by 4.00 pm.
