The Hands-on Workshop on LED Bulb Making, an initiative by the ENERGY CLUB in association with IQAC, was held on 21st November 2025 at the Decennial Hall, Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies. The event was jointly organised by the Department of Physics and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) as a part of the community outreach programme. The formal session began at 10.00 am with a prayer, marking a serene start to the programme. Ms. Metty Joby, Convenor of the Energy Club, delivered the welcome address. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan, Executive Director, SCAS, who highlighted the importance of sustainable energy practices in the modern world. This was followed by the principal’s message by Dr. Joy K L, who emphasized the significance of hands-on learning and community-oriented programmes. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Adith Sanjay, College Chairman, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, coordinators, and participants. The workshop session was led by Mr. Majeendran Kunnath, Instructor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur. A total of 47 students from various departments took part in the hands-on training. Participants assembled LED bulbs with expert guidance. Detailed explanation of LED components and energy efficiency was provided. Students actively engaged in practical work, enhancing their technical skills. Each participant assembled two LED bulbs—one as a contribution to the community to promote awareness on energy saving, and the other for personal use. The workshop concluded at 1.00 pm. The programme provided an enriching hands-on learning experience and reinforced the importance of adopting energy-efficient practices. It successfully met its objectives by equipping students with practical skills and fostering a spirit of community service through energy conservation initiatives.
