Krishi Geetham
SHE HARVEST – HEALTHY FUTURE
As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, NSS Unit 291, in collaboration with IQAC, organized WINGS – Women Inspiring Generations. As part of this event, the program “Krishi Geetham” was inaugurated at the NSS Vegetable Garden by the Executive Director, Rev. Dr. Devis Chenginiyadan.
During his inaugural speech, he remarked that “Anything nurtured by the hands of women flourishes abundantly.” He also emphasized the importance of planting and nurturing fruit trees for the benefit of future generations and encouraged the students to take part in this initiative.
The event was presided over by Vice Principal Dr. Karuna K, who highlighted the significant role of women in safeguarding family health. She urged everyone to cultivate vegetables at home, promoting self-sufficiency and healthy living.
As a part of the program, NSS volunteers harvested tapioca cultivated by them and donated it to the students of Pulipparakunnu Government L.P. School. They also sang traditional agricultural songs and presented folk tales and proverbs related to farming, enriching the cultural experience of the event.
The school’s Headmaster, Mr. Sreekumar, extended his best wishes and shared his thoughts. The event wrapped up with a warm welcome address by Student Coordinator Devika Raj and a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Angel Rose.
