National Study Tour 2025
The Department of Social Work at Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, conducted a National Study Tour for the 4th Semester MSW (2023-2025 batch) from 9th to 18th January 2025 as a part of their fieldwork Curriculam. This immersive educational experience took students to Mumbai, India’s financial capital, to explore diverse social work settings, interact with professionals, and witness impactful community-based interventions.
Students had the unique opportunity to visit seven renowned social work agencies, each working in different thematic areas. These included child rights, human trafficking, sanitation, education, and environmental sustainability. The agency visits provided valuable insights into the strategies, challenges, and impact of social work initiatives in urban India. This year, the department visited six agencies and they are as follows:
- Poornatha, Anderi East
- TISS, Chembur
- Gyan Saathi, Govandi
- Child Rights and You (CRY)
- Don Bosco Development Society, Matunga
- Goonj, Mira Bhayander
- Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, Chemboor
