As a part of scientific quest and developing more interest on scientific innovations, Department of physics conducted a visit to Sangama Grama on 12th November at 10:00 AM near Kalletumkkara. The visit aimed to understand the historical and cultural importance of the region and to observe the present socio-environmental conditions of the locality. Sangama Grama, historically significant as the birth place of mathematician Madhava of Sangamagrama, holds an important place in Kerala’s cultural heritage. The village is known for its ancient settlements, temples, and traditional architecture. The area near Kalletumkkara is surrounded by greenery and agricultural land. Local residents explained the traditional practices still followed in the region. Several buildings and locations reflect the historical identity of Sangama Grama. The visit to Sangama Grama near Kalletumkkara was highly informative and enriching. The region continues to preserve its traditional identity and cultural importance. The visit helped in gaining practical knowledge about heritage conservation and rural Kerala’s socio-cultural aspects. There were 30 students along with three faculty members were participated in the programme.
