The Post Graduate Department of English conducted the Student-Teacher Initiative for the academic year 2025-26 on 8th August 2025. This is an initiative by the PG Department of English to encourage students interested in teaching and planning to take up teaching as a profession. Greety George of the I MA English engaged the I BA English and I BA Malayalam students with the topic “Nouns and Kinds of Nouns”.
The student-teacher approached the teaching topic confidently, making use of relatable examples. This made the class interesting. She used a PowerPoint presentation to draw the attention of the students to the important points. She also asked questions to check how much had been grasped by the target audience. The students were interested in the class and answered the questions asked by the student-teacher. They interacted with enthusiasm in the class. They could relate to the topic more closely.
The programme was successful with proper planning and preparation. The class was executed in Room No. 430 during the 1st hour. The programme began with an introduction by the Student-Teacher Initiative Faculty-in-charge Ms. Metty Joby. The programme was fruitful for all the budding teachers in the department.
