The Department of Social Work, SCAS organized a one-day workshop on “Problematization in Social Work Research” on 22nd August 2025 at Menachery Hall, St. Thomas College, Thrissur. The resource person was Prof. Jose Antony, Head, Department of Social Work, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.
The formal session included a welcome address by Mr. Jijo Kuruvila (HoD, St. Thomas College), inauguration by Dr. E. D. John (Vice Principal, St. Thomas College), felicitation by Dr. M. K. Preetha Menon (HoD, SCAS), and a vote of thanks by Ms. Anna (Faculty, St. Thomas College).
MSW students from St. Thomas College and SCAS participated in the programme. Through lectures, discussions, and group exercises, Prof. Jose Antony emphasized identifying research gaps, formulating relevant questions, and critically analyzing social issues. The interactive sessions provided students with practical insights and enhanced their understanding of systematic research problematization.
