The Postgraduate Department of English organised a community outreach programme titled “English @ School” at Government Higher Secondary School, Kodakara, on September 16, 2025. The initiative was conducted by the M.A. English students under the guidance of Miss Metty Joby, Assistant Professor, PG Department of English.
The programme aimed to enhance the English communication skills of school students through interactive sessions, language games, and creative learning activities. It served as a practical extension of classroom learning, providing postgraduate students with an opportunity to apply their pedagogical and linguistic knowledge in a real-time educational setting.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of the Executive Director, the Principal, and the Head of the Department, Ms. Sheena Sarah Winny. Their words of encouragement inspired both the student teachers and the participants to make the most of the learning experience.
The programme received an enthusiastic response from the school students, who actively participated in all the sessions. The initiative successfully fulfilled its objective of fostering confidence and interest in learning English among the participants.
The Department expressed gratitude to the school authorities for their cooperation and to all the students and faculty members who contributed to the success of English @ School.
